From the Chairperson of the Board:

As we have entered into a new century, the challenges of the future hold opportunities to aid us in assisting individuals as never before. UTCAO has set out on a proactive course in combating the social ills around us, and at the same time taking a deep breath periodically to reflect on the lessons of the past and the present progress made in the journey toward the future. Many caring people -- Board members, staff, volunteers, businesses, friends, federal and local governments -- comprise the vast network responsible for these accomplishments. We must further develop that network if we are to continue making a significant impact in our communities. As we continue to serve the needs of individuals in our communities, the scope of our mission is often complex and impossible to achieve overnight. But the agency continues in it's commitment through complexity and what seems impossible to meet those needs. The task of helping those in need carries with it the highest degree of honor. Nothing gives one a satisfying sense of self worth quite like helping another build their own sense of self worth. There is no better example of that than community action. My sincere thanks go out to the staff and Board members whose "can do" spirit and dedication are matched by few others.

I challenge you to join with us as we help those in need face the challenges that lie ahead in the twenty-first century.

Sincerely,

Joanne Little Clark
Chairperson, Board of Directors
